    Bacon Ridge, Phase 3!

The long-awaited construction of phase 3 is in the final process of flagging and getting approval from the Bacon Ridge easement holders. We hope to be getting dirty every Sunday starting some time this fall. As we get closer to a date-certain, we'll notify everyone every way we know how! In the meantime, donations of cash-money are *always* welcome at:

9/28 - All About That Bacon

The history of Bacon Ridge (trails), trail design, construction and tool safety for our trail construction project at Bacon Ridge! What will the trail look like and how do we get there? Hit the ground swinging with this informative session. Check out maps of phase 3, meet the people behind Bacon Ridge, meet your fellow trail users and swap stories!

    10/5 - Hot Suspension Action

Starting with the history of bicycle suspension, we'll cover current design differences, how stuff works and get into some basic maintenance. We'll have fork and rear shock internals to play with and talk about dynamic vs static suspension set up and bracketing. From xc weight-weenies to gonzo dh riders, Shockwiz, the new coil suspension trend... we'll cover it all.

10/12 - Wonderful World of Wheels

One of the more popular topics of conversation here at TrailWerks. We'll go over how to lace up, true and tension wheels along with how to deal with wheels in an emergency.

10/19 - Bike Fit for Mountain Biking

Mountain bikes aren't road bikes. Or, they haven't been for a few decades. We'll talk about where performance, handling and confidence run into proper leg extension, climbing and descending. We'll talk about wide bars with short stems, xc vs dh vs dj vs enduro riding and why enduro bikes are so popular these days! Bring your bike if you want some specific pointers on your setup!

    10/26 - NICA in MD

Crazy Jon Posner is heading up the effort to bring high school mountain bike racing to the Old Line State after a successful launch in PA and VA. Join JP for an evening of chatter to learn about what needs to be done, his plans for getting things rolling and how you can help!

    11/2 - Fitness for Cyclists

Why does your back hurt after an hour on the bike? How can you reach that next level of fitness to stomp your riding buddies? Sick of walking that one steep spot? How can you improve your bunny hop? Join persona trainer and fellow rider Brian 'Gorilla' Johnson from Ignyte , Keri Ball from Premier and Ryan Morrissey from PEAK to learn how to stay fit during the off-season and how to ride stronger, longer. Be prepared to move around!

11/9 - Bike Builder Night with Rhode Fabrication

Join 'Sit Down' Pete Appell, founder-owner-welder-designer of Rhode Fabrication, for a night of steel bike-building information! Pete has been building bikes (and boats and racecars) for a few decades now so he's going to share the details of frame building with us! Hardtails, singlespeeds, slalom, dj and full-suspension bikes, Pete does it all! Interested in how he does it or just want to meet somebody who might build your next bike? Don't miss it!
