Welcome to Annapolis Bicycle Club sm"Join the Ride"Who We Are - Mission StatementThe Annapolis Bicycle Club, founded in 1993, is a not-for-profit, service marked, growth oriented cycling organization dedicated to advancing cycling skills in endurance, speed, performance, route variety, group dynamics, and the interests of recreational cycling enthusiasts. Our interests include safety, exercise, and camaraderie. Our members cycle in ABC and other organizations' A, B, C, and D level events, including single and multi-day events ranging from short to hundreds of miles at modest to very fast speeds. We also train and compete on-line. Our RidesWe produce several hundred rides per year during the week and on weekends, all year long. We have rides for the lean and mean A and B level cyclist through C level cyclists who have a bike in good condition and a body that would like to get and stay there. Rides we offer and participate in:
For rides on Maryland's Eastern Shore, in VA, DC, PA, etc, members often carpool to reduce costs and increase enjoyment of these activities. Check back frequently to the Calendar link on the website for ride announcements. Contact our Ride Coordinators at "rides AT annapolisbicycleclub. org" if you would like to suggest a ride or lead a ride or use the Request-a-Ride submission tool. We are seeking more ride leaders and will train you before you lead. Our Social EventsABC members socialize before, during, and after rides and at our monthly Third Thursday Get Together cyclist socials at different Annapolis area restaurants and is a great time to discuss cycling off of the bike and off the road. We have our annual dinner and party at very nice venues and summer/autumn picnics and BBQs for the whole family. ABC subsidizes the costs. We celebrate Oktoberfest and other fun events. ABC members plan and operate the rest stops at the LifeLine100 annual event. Communications All members have access to the website and receive our newsletter, Tailwind Express, which details all activities and rides plus features information on bicycle advocacy and news on club activities. Members also have a smart phone app for rides, directory, information. We have members-only club on Strava and Facebook to exchange information. Members receive emails about rides and other topics of interest. Most important - members have access to other members for information and tips on rides and best routes in the Annapolis area.
