The pre-season is behind us and the main season begins...
I'm inviting our Ride Leaders and other members who would like to provide input to our weekend ride schedule to dinner on Monday at 6pm at Davidsonville Park pavilion John Tyrrell's house due to weather.
In the past, our Ride Coordinators awaited ride suggestions and leader volunteers, which either came at the last minute or not at all leaving an open day on the calendar (gasp). We did have some routinely scheduled weekend rides last year which were great and we like to plan ahead more this season.
The purpose of the dinner meeting is to look at our weekend schedule for the next several months and populate it with a variety of rides in our local cycling area of Anne Arundel County and Kent Island using roads and trails.
- 12-14 MPH at 20-29 miles
- 14-16 MPH at 30-40 miles
- 15-16 MPH at 40-50 miles
The goal is to have each of these rides categories each weekend populated in advance on the calendar with a stated location, route, speed and distance so that all of us can plan ahead at least as a meet up ride but ideally with an assigned Ride Leader.
Of course, we can amend the rides later and other interesting rides can still pop up.
So please join our Ride Coordinators Joe Urban, Chris Higgins, me, and others for a picnic dinner of coldcut and cheese platters, sides, fruit, and soft drinks and lets get our calendar sorted out in advance. Bring your schedule and ideas with you.
Please send your comments and suggestions even If you can't make it.
You MUST register by noon Monday vial the calendar so that we have enough for everyone who is coming and will be an active voice. Sorry for the short notice but its been a very busy week and we need to get rolling.
Another note:
ABC Treasurer
Our treasurer is retiring and the officer position needs to be filled soon to keep our Club in operation. Contact Kathy Mathews or John Tyrrell for information or to nominate a member. Kathy will transition the new treasurer to the position. You need good household financial skills with the ability to balance a checking account and plan our expenditures. A CPA is not necessary as our operation has been streamlined and automated and is pretty simple. We are in very good financial shape with no debt, a solid bank balance, and good records.
Thanks!!!
John Tyrrell
