A good opportunity to ride some new roads in Southern MD. the 75 mile ride goes down to Coltons Point before heading back. Looks like a nice ride. Reigistration and route sheets at the link. Anyone interested???
Join us on a scenic 75-mile bike ride on June 2, 2012, to celebrate the Co-op's 75th anniversary. Travel through the byways of Southern Maryland to Colton’s Point on the shores of the Potomac River. June 2 is National Trails Day, a perfect opportunity to join your neighbors for a 29-, 47-, or 75-mile ride through Southern Maryland along portions of the scenic Three Notch Trail.
Packet and shirt pick-up, and same-day registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at the SMECO Headquarters building in Hughesville on June 2.
Registration is just $35 before May 1, and $45 after. Register before
May 1 to receive a 75th anniversary color-block, moisture-wicking sports shirt. All participants will receive lunch and beverages. Ride is limited to the first 400 registrants. (No rain date.)
I was looking for a point of contact to get information on pace of the ride. I found this:
Register for our 75-mile bike ride to mark our anniversary. SMECO is working in conjunction with the Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club to plan this ride, which will start at our headquarters building in Hughesville on June 2, which is also National Trails Day.
Oxen Hill Club will surely have a group we can get in with at a respectable pace. I was just worried this may be a "fun" event and everyone would be out to smell the roses. Don't get me wrong, roses can smell FANTASTIC, but I'd rather do that a the florist's.
