Thank you to everyone who's been so welcoming to me on rides since I joined the Club in January. I've discussed with some of you that I participate in Climate Ride events with a group of friends from Annapolis, and I wanted to share that there are rider spots still available in Climate Ride New England '19, riding from Bar Harbor to Boston, September 12 to 16, if anyone's interested in taking part. There are open spots in other Climate Ride events this year as well, including one along the Central California Coast next month.
Climate Ride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that organizes life-changing charitable biking and hiking events to raise awareness and support sustainability, active transportation, and environmental causes. They stage fully supported rides, runs and hikes through scenic areas for those who are willing to raise funds for non-profits working for sustainable solutions to our climate change challenges. For this Climate Ride New England '19 event, there's a minimum fundraising requirement of $3000 (part of which will cover your meals, lodging, support vehicles and staff) in addition to a registration fee.
More details on Climate Ride and their events are available on their site here: https://www.climateride.org/about-us/, and I'm also happy to share my own experiences from my ride last year along the shores of Lake Michigan, or details on this year's ride, at email@example.com or 410-570-3565, or during one of our rides.
I am raising funds for my own ride primarily to benefit Maryland 501(c)(3) Sustainafest. Sustainafest's mission is to educate and encourage people of all ages to take action in their everyday lives to strengthen neighborhoods, improve the environment, and support local economies. I know we all are asked to support many worthy causes, but I'd honored and grateful for any donations you might make to my effort on my page, https://support.climateride.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.participant&participantID=6659.
