Hi, all! As I said in the annual meeting, I want to talk about what multi-day ride event people would like to do this year.
The last two years, we've done the Ride Across Maryland. For me, having done it twice in a row, I don't want to burn it out and keep doing it. My thought is that we hold this every other year, and alternate with other events. That said, if many people are committed to riding this RAM this year, I'll pull off and let someone else take my spot (I may be able to help SAG).
Other options:
1. I've been kicking around the idea of a GAP/C&O Canal trip, or a Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive trip. We can talk a little about these. There may be other ideas.
2. Another bike club I'm in has "destination rides", as I think of them, where they'll go to a city (last year, one destination was Annapolis), stay in a hotel or AirBNB, and then do several rides in that area over the long weekend. This has the advantage of simpler logistics. They also do a similar destination trip to the Finger Lakes region each year. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few potential destinations, like Charleston, SC or State College, PA.
3. We could simply join another event, like Festivelo in South Carolina, or the Monument to Monument ride the Air Force does each fall (John T. has ridden this the last few years).
4. Maybe you have other ideas. Bring them to the meeting!
