Steve Graham has a lot of experience with multi-day bike tours and will lead this 5 day ride in April - The Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry Tour

DRAFT   DRAFT    DRAFT

The tour will begin cycling northbound on the NCR trail (aka Torrey C Brown Rail Trail), north of Baltimore, to York, PA on hard limestone, then hard roads after that. Spend some time in Gettysburg, PA, loop over to Harpers Ferry, WV and back on day 5.

This is a self supported ride with packs, tents, and anything you'll need for 5 days. We can purchase supplies and meals along the way.

All participants will need to be members of the Club for insurance purposes because it is a multi-day event.

This is the draft framework:

5 day route that is being finalized.

Day 1 is short mileage because it is on the NCR trail. Camp at the end.

Day 2 is short mileage to allow time to tour battlefields in Gettysburg, PA. Camp at the end.

Day 3 will camp at the end.

Day 4 will be the hardest day, but we can then relax in a comfortable hotel at the end of the day.

Day 5 will return to the start

I checked and all three campgrounds are open.  They suggest we make reservations.

I let RideWithGPS choose the route between endpoints.  I suspect it used heat maps.  I am open to suggestions, modifications, etc.

Regards,

Steve

We can schedule an organizing Google Meet to go over the Tour. Please register of you are interested in riding or learning more.
