The ABC Team Ride Across Maryland

If you are interested a multi day event from the western MD border to the ocean, feel free to join the Google Meet to help formulate the concept, options, share ideas, etc. This will probably be the first of several discussions.

The overall concept - Not a tour, not a race, but a safe challenging event spanning 340 miles and 15,000 feet of climbing over 4-4.5 consecutive days with a big celebration and awards at the end at the ocean. A way to promote ABC and our brand and image and grow membership.
Must be an ABC member to participate. Just join ABC and ride. No guest riders.
The riders cover the event expenses. ABC provides the trophies and medal awards based on accomplishments to ABC members.
West to east route, stops, lodging. A route concept from RidewithGPS will be shown and discussed using this ever evolving draft route template.
100% of the ride in MD. Minimum of 4 days.
Test the final route using a car far in advance.
Option for 4.5 and/or 5 days?

Day -1	Travel from home area as a group to the assembly hotel at western MD	Oakland
Stage 1	Old: 60 miles and 5400 climb. Start from MD western border to Rocky Gap State Park Lodge and Casino New: 63 miles with 4000 climb: Start in Oakland https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45662973	overnight at Rocky Gap State Park Lodge and Casino
Stage 2	56 miles and 4801 climb from RG St. Park to Williamsport	Red Roof Inn Williamsport
Stage 3	100 miles and 5300 climb from Williamsport to Sandy Point St Park	stay at home that night
Stage 4	115 miles and 1300 climb from Kent Island to OC SAG rides over the Bay Bridge to start	stay overnight OC and celebrate

Can cyclists just join different stages or is it the whole route?
Needs for SAG support and the expenses (Sprinter van, SAG supplies, etc.)
Rider commitment and financial obligations. Nonrefundable deposit?
Leadership team. Ride Boss on down...
Volunteer roles.
Our insurance policy and coverage.
Minimal strength, conditioning, and performance ability.
Drop / no drop / swept up into SAG.
Safety, security, first aid.
Rules of the road.
Time frame towards the end of the season. Right after Labor Day ?
Days of the week to start and end. Sat & Sunday for Stage 1 & Stage 2 to get max support so far from home?
What time to start each day. (temp, distance)
Advance promotion and press releases.
Wear ABC jerseys for identification. Share weblink of position with SAG drivers. Get bib numbers for the awesome factor.
