CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

The ride roughly follows the Gettysburg Metric Century route, but is altered to find a couple of rest stops for this unsupported ride. Start will be at Thurmont Park, in Thurmont MD. Not too much elevation for the area at 2500', anticipate average speed 16.5 mph.

Following the metric if you still have some energy want to try a little hill climb? From the car to Camp David is a 6 mile climb 4.5% average gradient, 1400' up Catoctin Mountain. A little saddle later stops at Catoctin Furnace Liquors, where you will need to check your brakes for the 1200' drop back into Thurmont.
