Annual Picnic

Quiet Waters Park - Red Maple Pavilion
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED We had ~35+ attendees
ABC invites all of our members and their guests to come and have fun, good fellowship, and a nice catered meal under a large pavilion reserved just for us.
We are doing things a little differently this year. We won’t have a buffet line, pot luck, or grilling. You don’t need to bring anything to share. The main meal will be provided by Mission BBQ or Zoes Kitchen and will be pre ordered through ABC, delivered, and individually wrapped. ABC will provide coolers of canned and bottled soft drinks including water, sparking water, and sodas. We’ll have wrapped baked goods and watermelon for desert. Alcohol is not allowed at this park.
ABC has paid for the 100 person Red Maple covered pavilion but will limit the attendees to 50. There are 12 large picnic tables and there is room for you to bring folding chairs to sit under and around the pavilion as well. Tables will be covered in plastic table cloths and have hand sanitizer available.
Our pavilion includes nice restrooms at the adjacent comfort station and there is a playground for kids. Dogs are welcome at this park and picnic.
Our picnic will begin at 3pm and the hot food will be available at 4pm. We can stay until dusk so there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy ourselves. You may come to the park early and enjoy the nature trails and gardens. We’ll have music, corn hole, giveaways, raffle, and other activities.
The picnic will also include a bicycle swap meet for anything related to cycling you wish to bring, sell, give away, or swap.
Linda Jones is our special event leader and has done a lot of research to make this happen. We do need volunteers to help in advance and the day of the event. Please contact Linda at lindaraej23@gmail.com or 301-602-2749 to help make this another good time.
You register on the ABC website event calendar for you and your guests and select your dinner choices. The fee will be $12.00 per person and ABC is covering the rest. The deadline to register and select your dinner is 9/16/2020.

Entrance to the park is now free for our event! Just let the gate attendant know that you are coming to the Red Maple Pavilion.
Entrance fee is $6.00 per car or free to US military veterans. Just show your veteran status on your driver’s license, a DD-214, or retiree card. Some people park across the street from the entrance and cycle or walk in.
Our Red Maple pavilion, comfort station, and playground are the closest ones to the park entrance.
Note: This event is in a covered pavilion so it’s rain or shine, so no refunds after ABC places the food order.
