Trish Cunningham Memorial Ride

  • 09/28/2013
  • 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM
  • Annapolis High School parking lot
The gathering and rally starts at 7:00am at Annapolis High School. Then the ride starts at 8:30am. Click here for more information.

From the organizer, Alex Pline:

We meet at AHS. We are alerting TV and print press and will have supplied them with some reference materials on bike safety and Trish's story, so this will be a time for any interviews. People are welcome to come and meet at AHS even if they are not going to ride. The more people the better.

At 8:30am, we will leave the parking lot as a group and ride *slowly* down Riva Road staying as a group being *very careful* to stay on our side of the road. Folks from the running community can all run from AHS, but not along Riva Road with the bikes. We will have a car behind the riders with flashers on to act as a buffer from any faster southbound cars. Earlier in the morning I will have installed the Ghost Bike at the scene so it will be there. We ride down Riva and I think depending on whether we have TV Cameras with us, we stop briefly or just slow for a moment of silence. I think this is a somber occasion and a moment of silence is appropriate.

We will continue on to Riva Park where we can disband. From there riders can go on their way to other group rides, have someone come and meet you or return to AHS. We will have the same car to follow the any group on the way back to AHS for safety.

We are expecting to attract some significant press to further the issue of bike safety. Please spread the word as we would love to have a great turnout in memory of Trish!
