TrailWerks/TakeAim Trail House - Snowshoe (6/7-10, 9/6-9)

Put the ‘mountain’ back in mountain biking! TrailWerks Cyclery and Take Aim Cycling have partnered to deliver a weekend of riding you’ll never forget. There will be TWO events for 2018 - June 7-10 and September 6-9.

Take Your Riding to the Next Level!

You’ll learn how to tackle some of the most advanced terrain with instructor-extraordinaire, Harlan Price from TakeAim Cycling. Harlan and company will lead a series of clinics aimed at taking you to the next level, regardless of your current riding ability!

Space is limited to 12 riders - Stop by, email or call TrailWerks Cyclery to reserve your spot today!

Pre-Event Meeting/Clinics

Harlan from TakeAim will be offering clinics April 27-28 at TrailWerks and Bacon Ridge. The Snowshoe meet and greet with Harlan will be Friday 4/27 from 6:30-8pm. This is a great time to meet Harlan and get a feel for his teaching style. Registration details will be sent out in the coming weeks for the various clinics.

Snowshoe Living!

We’ve got your lodging covered. TrailWerks is making accomodations for riders to stay in a house very close to the staff house. Riders will have their own bed with some single rooms available, first come, first served. Breakfasts and dinners will be served at the staff house. All mechanical services will be provided at the staff house.

We will accommodate transfers up until May 15th with no transfer fee.

Equipment Needs

Protection - Full face helmet, neck brace HIGHLY recommended; gloves, elbow, knee, shin, back, chest protection recommended. You can rent from Snowshoe or purchase from TrailWerks.

Bike - Functional 6”+ travel bike with aggressive tread tires and heavy sidewall, suspension in working order and wheels in reasonable shape. You can also rent dh bikes from Snowshoe.

Clothing - Bring durable dh/enduro-style gear that you don’t mind crashing in (it happens). Also, temps drop A LOT at night. Prepare for that. This is rain/shine so we won’t be cancelling if it’s wet. It’s Snowshoe. It rains. Be prepared.

Fitness Prep

Riding downhill all day is hard. It’s not the pedaling, it’s the muscles that you use to stay in the ‘ready’ position that will wear out. It is recommended that you do some push-ups, sit-ups and squats on a regular basis (3-5 times a week) to ensure that you can be strong and ride for 2.5 days straight. Don’t underestimate how much work this is. Going downhill, pinned, for 10 minutes on a lot of these runs takes serious strength.

Bike Pre-Check

You will be required to bring your bike into TrailWerks Cyclery before the event to ensure your equipment is up to the task. There is no charge to check out your bike but it may require work or upgrades. If you have concerns, please bring your bike in BEFORE registering.
