Weather permitting, ABCers will meet a group coming from Proteus Bikes and ride with them along the Anacostia River Trail into Washington, DC to lend our support to the March for Our Lives. Also, we will take a tour of Hains Point to preview the cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are not expected to be in peak bloom until March 27th.
About the March for Our Lives: "...the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets of Washington DC to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today."
Please note that bicycles are not allowed in the march or the rally. If you want to join the march, be prepared to lock your bicycle and leave it.
The start location is the Bladensburg Waterfront Park. The park entrance is on route 450 near the intersection with route 1; map. Parking is free but limited. Please be ready to ride at 10:30 AM. Dress warmly as temperatures won't get much above 40 degrees.
Please contact the ride leader if you plan to participate: Jim Black; email@example.com
The pace will be slow to very slow, with some walking through crowds.
