The event features 14 and 30 mile on-road scenic routes through the Crownsville/Davidsonville area with members of Bike Like A Girl.
Cyclists will meet at the fairgrounds in the morning, complete their ride and then have entry to the Beer Run festival which features live entertainment, food, a 5k run, a shorter fun run and of course more than 40 varieties of beer. The ride and festival is open to adults 21 and over.
Bike Like A Girl, the second 8-woman team in Race Across America history, has a mission of raising money and awareness in support of empowering girls and women through cycling. They are raising funds for three non-profit organizations: The World Bicycle Relief Fund provides bicycles as a mode of transportation for people in African countries to take crops to market or for children traveling to school. The Women’s Cycling Association is an organization designed to bring gender equity into the male dominated sport in multiple ways including developing motivational cycling camps for girls ages 12-15. Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis & Anne Arundel County "BikeAAA" promotes safe cycling for transportation and recreation through Anne Arundel County.
The ride is open to cyclists of all ages, but the festival is open only to adults 21 and over. For event details and more information about the ride, festival, registration, go to this link.
Annapolis Bicycle Club members will be volunteering to help make this event a success!
