  • Home Grown Farm Market in Lexington Park, Maryland
Southern Maryland Crop Hop, initiated by SMADC, is a fundraiser bike tour of Southern Maryland farms with proceeds going to help low income communities receive fresh local produce.
Riders in the event will start at Home Grown Market in St. Mary’s county, stop periodically to tour farms and taste locally grown and made snacks. Upon returning to the market, participants will receive a meal made of local ingredients. Participants will pay an entrance fee to offset the cost of the event and all excess funds will be allocated to bring fresh, local foods to underserved communities via the Southern Maryland Food Bank.
There will be three routes, a 63 mile (metric century), a 29 mile and a 4 mile family route. The meal after the tour will be free to riders and can be purchased by non-riders.
